About Tom Nordland

Tom Nordland's Swish Shooting MethodTom Nordland began developing his basketball shooting techniques as a kid growing up in Minnesota. Tom was one of those kids who spent countless hours shooting a basketball - in his back yard, at the parks, at the local basketball courts, in the gyms, and everywhere else there was a basketball goal. His love for the game of basketball constantly drove him to continue learning the biomechanics of shooting a basketball, but at the time, he was unable to teach his shooting form to anyone else. Tom's shooting workouts on his jump shots and free throws paid off during his high school career at Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis. Roosevelt won back-to-back state championships while Tom played for the Teddies as he averaged 27 points a game. Tom even set a state record that still stands today with the sinking of 19 of 20 free throws in the championship game.

Tom Nordland now teaches his basketball shooting techniques to coaches and players at all levels - from middle school kids to NBA and WNBA players, from grade school coaches to professional men and women coaches. Tom conducts basketball shooting clinics all over the country teaching his techniques and fundamentals with very impressive results. Jan Conner, the second winningest girls coach in Indiana history, once quoted, "When I asked my team for the most beneficial tool we used to help their basketball skills, they all agreed that it was Coach Nordland's Shooting Style. Every single athlete that he worked with improved by over 15% in their field goal shooting and 25% or more in their Free Throw shooting. Tom only worked with 7 players on my team for about one hour one evening. Think what he could have done with them for an entire clinic session. I give my highest recommendation to all coaches at any level to let this shooting genius work with your team." Jan retired with a career record of 442-73, so she knows what winning is all about. Coming from a person with such a distinguished career, this recommendation of Tom's shooting techniques is an amazing achievement and should not go unnoticed. Coaches, if you want to improve the shooting skills of all your players, you should check out the highly acclaimed SWISH Method by Tom Nordland!
